About Debbie
Debbie Mitchell grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C. She graduated from Salem College in West Virginia, earning a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Art Therapy, and started her career working with troubled youths as a counselor. Debbie moved to Wrightsville Beach in 1986 and began her real estate career in 1992. She quickly rose through the ranks and soon became one of the top agents in the Wilmington area. Debbie was the recipient of the Legend award at Prudential Carolinas Realty for being in the 1% of Prudential agents nationally for 5 consecutive years.
Debbie made a move to the industry leader, Intracoastal Realty in 2003. She sold over 150 million in 2006 and 2007 and has sold over a half a billion dollars worth of real estate in her 20 year career. For 7 consecutive years, Debbie has been in the top three of Wilmington realtors.
Debbie’s success in the industry comes from her love of helping people and by building meaningful relationships with her clients. Debbie has enjoyed continuing relationships with many of her clients since the beginning of her career 20 years ago. Having lived in the area for 25 years she has an extensive knowledge of the area in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. Debbie and her husband, Mark, feel privileged for the opportunity to live with their two children, Brandon and Sophia on beautiful Wrightsville Beach. They stay involved in the community as members of Saint Andrews on the Sound Episcopal Church, the Surf Rider Foundation, Child Advocacy Commission, Bald Head Island Conservancy and many other local organizations. Debbie also enjoys volunteering at Sophia’s school, Wrightsville Beach Elementary and watching her son’s soccer games and surf contests.
