Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage\'s first advertisement was as Wilmington Sea Coast Properties in the 66th issue of The Cape Fear Real Estate Directory in 1991. In 1993, Issue# 87 we had the honor to run an ad that announced Wilmington Sea Coast Properties had changed to Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty. (You can see both ads above!)
When they first ran in 1991 they had one office in Wrightsville Beach. Since then the company has grown to being staffed by more than 450 real estate agents in 12 offices in Wilmington, Leland, Jacksonville, Carolina Beach, Topsail Island, Hampstead, Southport, Sneads Ferry, South Brunswick, Oak Island and Holden Beach. We are grateful to still have the pleasure of working with Sea Coast Advantage agents today. Thank you, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage for your support throughout the years!
To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are going to post each week in the coming year the first ad that our recent advertisers ran with us. We think this will be a fun way to commemorate our 30th anniversary, thank our advertisers, look back at how the area has grown and, of course, see how prices have changed over the past 30 years. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word "Negotiate: to discuss something formally in order to make an agreement : to get over, through, or around (something) successfully."
Meet Shane Register, CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert) and SRS (Seller Representative Specialist). There is no time more important than when selling your home to have someone on your side that is capable of and fully understanding of the negotiation process. Shane’s adaptability and ease in high pressure situations are personality traits that have proven essential to the thousands of business and real estate transactions of which he has been a part.
The Shane Register Professional Real Estate Group’s namesake, Shane, credits the success of his real estate group to their separate specialities, thus allowing for clients to experience educated, finely-tuned services highly specific to their personal real estate needs. Shane’s speciality-- Seller Representative-- requires that he create marketing and showings for Seller properties, negotiate all contracts, and navigate each transaction to the closing table. Shane's embrace of technology has allowed his clients true transparency through completely open lines of communication and information readily available 24-hours a day.
Shane Register has the unique quality of being a born and bred southeastern North Carolina local. He has an extensive knowledge of both the history of the area as well as its people. Although Shane has an ease with locals to the area, he also has an appreciation for transplants looking to call beautiful North Carolina home. He loves working with people from all phases of life. A family-focused man, Shane is the father to both a son and daughter and husband to wife Christy (also an integral part to the Shane Register Professional Real Estate Group). You know that you have found a good real estate agent when asked about his hobbies he replies, "cycling the area and working." Dedication to an area that he has loved all of his life long, his real estate business, and his expert negotiating skills sum Shane up pretty well.
If you would like someone to take the pressure off of your shoulders when selling your property, let Shane Register do it for you! He enjoys it!
I am pleased to be a member of the Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage team.
Following my retirement as a Captain with Delta Air Lines and a career in aviation, I began my real estate career in 2012. As a ’76 graduate of the USAF Academy, I spent 13 years on active duty and an additional 10 years in the USAF Reserves. Between Delta and the Air Force, I have been fortunate enough to have traveled much of the world and I love meeting people and exploring new cultures.
My wife and I “landed” in the Wilmington area in 2004 when we purchased a vacation property. In 2011 we sold our Raleigh home and moved to this beautiful city on a permanent basis. We love Wilmington’s beaches, restaurants and its genuinely friendly people. Besides being a great place to visit, we’ve found Wilmington to be a great place to live.
Whether you’re planning to sell…or looking to buy, it would be my pleasure to help you with your real estate needs. I’ll work tirelessly on your behalf to ensure you get the best value for your investment dollars. You can expect to be treated with dignity, respect and above all…honesty. It’s the only way I know to do business!

Shannon has been in fine home and land sales since 2001, working at the prestigious waterfront golf community of Landfall in Wilmington, NC. A native of the piedmont region, she returned home to NC in 2000 after living in New Mexico and Southern California. Although there are many great areas of the country, she enjoys the unique mix of the North Carolina coast: the water, the wildlife, the history, the university, and of course the people. “There’s something about people here that’s different from other places--they’re open, friendly and enjoy life. It’s a joy working with clients that have decided to make our area their home.” Shannon is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a BA in Speech Communication. She enjoys writing, cooking, funny movies, all things water-related, international travel.
